Sandra is an experienced policy advisor and entrepreneur with a proven ability to influence international, national and local projects. Having worked in a range of different cultural contexts, Sandra has a deep awareness and understanding of the importance of cultural diversity and thrives in situations that require her to build working professional relationships quickly and develop solutions in high pressure situations.
Sandra has a passion for the environment, including Environmental Legislation and strategy and has worked in both National and Local government advising on Policy and sharing her specialised knowledge on the Resource Management Act. Following her work on Volunteer Service Abroad, she established and built a successful tour guide and ‘Bed and Breakfast’ business in Tanzania.
Sandra takes a pragmatic and thorough approach to her work and communicates effectively in both written and verbal forms.
Sandra supported the Deputy Chief Excusive and worked closely with the senior leadership team of the Covid-19 Response Unit with a range of strategic responsibilities such as business planning, contingency planning and reporting to Ministers.
Sandra was engaged to support the Organisational Performance team produce a range of accountability documents and work with internal staff members to develop the basis of Land Information New Zealand’s sustainability strategy.
Sandra managed a safari and climb tour company which specialised in Northern Tasmania, Zanzibar and Mt Kilimanjaro.
Sandra volunteered with a non-governmental organisation which facilitated relationships between international partners and government and local communities for improved and more integrated water resource management solutions.
