Debbie has more than 30 years management experience in senior leadership roles leading large, multi-functional teams across a range of communications, engagement and marketing disciplines in central and local government. 

Her areas of expertise include strategy implementation, stakeholder engagement, public consultation, social marketing, change management, project management, facilitation, risk, reputation and media management, service delivery and customer relations for diverse organisations and sectors.

As well as her professional experience, Debbie holds a recent MBA from Victoria University of Wellington and is a Chartered Member of the Institute of Directors. 

She has Practitioner certification and experience, and delivers training, in a wide range of well-recognised project, programme and portfolio management qualifications and other business management methodologies, as outlined below. In 2021, Debbie became one of the first people in the world to achieve all three of new the ProPath Certifications from Axelos: Project Expert; Agile Project Expert; and Programme Leader. 

Debbie is of Kāi Tahu descent and raised and educated in South Auckland, giving her a deep understanding of, and commitment to, the Treaty of Waitangi, as well as awareness and sensitivity in dealing with diverse cultures.
